Geospatial Developer

Position summary

Motivf is recruiting several geospatial developers to join our Agile geospatial information systems integration teams for enterprise Government clients. You will work in a team environment to analyze requirements to determine and build state-of-the-art geospatial web technologies. What will your technology do? It’ll help decision makers to improve large-scale land stewardship and management.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work with clients and team members to develop best-in-class approaches from concept through execution

  • Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas.

  • Amend final designs to clients comments and gain full approval.

  • Acquire the crucial and differentiating career experience of working for a major federal government client and developing technology used throughout the nation.

  • Work directly with client staff and our internal teams to develop specifications, design new processes and procedures, facilitate testing, training, and user acceptance, and oversee rollout of your solutions.

  • Work with senior program leaders and technologists to leverage industry-leading tools.

  • Communicate and collaborate proactively with clients and subject matter experts to analyze information and functional needs and deliver functional requirements, business requirements, technical requirements, and user stories.

  • Gather requirements through interviews, document and artifact analysis, facilitated workshop sessions, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, user stories, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.

  • Clearly communicate your technical decisions to your teammates and both technical and non-technical members of the client team.

  • Manage and publish map/feature services using the agreed technology stack.

  • Deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain systems using various cloud technologies.

  • Support audits to verify that requirements have been met.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Geography or related discipline.

  • Demonstrate GIS Development skills with a strong portfolio.

  • Extensive experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise development and applications

  • Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript.

  • Ability to work successfully with teams, independently, and under
    pressure

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-directed, intrinsically motivated; proven capacity to manage work independently, multitask and be responsive to time-sensitive deadlines.

  • Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-anticipation and -solving, and customer service; ability to independently investigate solutions to challenges and anticipate leadership needs.

  • Well-organized, with strong administrative skills and outstanding attention to detail. 

  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills in working with colleagues at all levels. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work diplomatically with diverse constituencies.

  • Ability to remain flexible and able to adapt to change.
