Senior Legal Review & Risk Consultant
Motivf is seeking a Senior Legal Review & Risk Consultant to serve as a trusted advisor across proposals, contracts, and delivery activities. This role prioritizes strong legal judgment, risk awareness, and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-moving professional services environment.
The consultant identifies, assesses, and clearly communicates contractual, regulatory, and operational risks, helping teams make informed decisions without slowing delivery unnecessarily. The ideal candidate understands that risk shows up differently across types of work and clients, and can tailor guidance accordingly rather than applying rigid or one-size-fits-all controls.
This is a part-time, long-term role for someone who values discretion, clarity, and thoughtful follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Proposal Review
Review proposals, contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, and related agreements
Identify material legal, regulatory, and operational risks
Flag issues clearly and early, with practical recommendations for mitigation
Support timely contract negotiation and execution
Risk Identification & Mitigation
Assess risk across delivery activities, partnerships, and engagements
Provide guidance that balances legal prudence with business realities
Recommend proportionate, sustainable risk controls appropriate to the context
Maintain consistent standards while adapting to engagement-specific needs
Advisory & Decision Support
Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and delivery teams
Explain legal and risk considerations in plain language to non-legal colleagues
Enable informed decision-making without creating unnecessary friction
Support quick, sound judgment in ambiguous or time-sensitive situations
Stewardship & Ethics
Exercise exceptional discretion and ethical reasoning
Protect the firm, its people, and its clients through disciplined risk management
Maintain clear documentation and follow-through on risk decisions
Contribute to continuous improvement of legal and risk practices over time
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in legal review, contracts, compliance, risk management, or related roles
Deep experience reviewing and interpreting complex commercial or professional services agreements
Strong understanding of how legal and operational risk manifests in delivery-focused organizations
Proven ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely
High ethical standards, discretion, and sound professional judgment
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
