Delivery Manager

Motivf is seeking a part-time Delivery Manager to provide strong delivery leadership across a diverse portfolio of concurrent projects. This role prioritizes operational judgment, disciplined execution, and the ability to manage complexity at scale. The Delivery Manager oversees multiple active engagements—some led by other project managers and others managed directly—ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with Motivf’s delivery standards.

This role is responsible for ensuring projects are kicked off thoughtfully with clear Project Charters and are closed out rigorously with appropriate follow-ups and documentation. The Delivery Manager supports and mentors project managers and delivery teams, helping them apply Motivf’s practices consistently while adapting appropriately to the needs of each engagement.

The role requires close, day-to-day collaboration with Motivf’s COO. Strong preference is given to candidates based in or near Minneapolis–St. Paul who can work in person to manage delivery operations, coordinate teams, and maintain shared situational awareness across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Project Delivery Oversight

  • Oversee a portfolio of concurrent projects, including those led by other PMs and smaller engagements managed directly

  • Ensure projects are scoped, planned, and executed to meet timeline, budget, and quality expectations

  • Lead strong project kickoffs with clear Project Charters and defined success criteria

  • Ensure projects are closed appropriately with follow-ups, retrospectives, and formal close-out documentation

Delivery Leadership & Risk Management

  • Monitor delivery health across engagements and intervene early when risks or challenges emerge

  • Balance structure with flexibility, applying Motivf’s delivery practices without unnecessary rigidity

  • Provide clear direction, disciplined planning, and strong follow-through across teams

  • Maintain composure and sound judgment in high-pressure or ambiguous situations

People & Team Enablement

  • Support and mentor project managers and delivery team members

  • Coach teams on applying agile, scrum, and/or hybrid delivery approaches effectively

  • Create clarity and alignment without micromanagement

  • Take responsibility for both delivery outcomes and team health

Operational Collaboration

  • Work closely with the COO to manage delivery operations and maintain firm-wide situational awareness

  • Coordinate across delivery, operations, and leadership to anticipate capacity needs and delivery risks

  • Contribute to improving delivery processes, tools, and standards over time

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-project delivery portfolios

  • Strong operational judgment and ability to manage competing priorities

  • Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent) strongly preferred

  • PMP certification strongly preferred

  • Experience mentoring or managing project managers and delivery teams

  • Comfort operating both strategically (portfolio-level oversight) and tactically (hands-on problem solving)

  • Excellent communication skills and follow-through

  • Resilience, fairness, and composure under pressure
