User Interface Designer
Position summary
Do you like creating from scratch? Are you someone with a great mix of patience and persistence? Do you like solving complex issues with design? Motivf is looking for a User Interface Designer to have a point of view on design and be able to articulate, defend, and execute it.
Your Responsibilities:
Create the overall look and feel of digital interfaces, including web pages, mobile apps, and software applications, ensuring they align with the brand's visual identity and user experience goals
Develop visual elements such as icons, buttons, typography, color schemes, and imagery to create a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing user interface
Create wireframes and interactive prototypes to outline the structure and functionality of the interface before moving into the full design phase
Collaborate with UX designers and researchers to gather user feedback and insights, incorporating them into the design process to improve the user experience
Ensure that UI designs are responsive and adaptable to various screen sizes and devices, providing a consistent and user-friendly experience across platforms
Develop and maintain design systems or style guides that document design patterns, guidelines, and reusable components to maintain design consistency
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to align the UI design with project goals and user needs
Conduct usability tests on UI designs to identify issues and areas for improvement, then make necessary design adjustments based on user feedback
Create and export graphical assets, such as images, icons, and illustrations, in the appropriate formats for development and implementation
Keep up with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to ensure that UI designs remain current and competitive in the digital landscape
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of human centered design/design thinking, and user interface design
An amazing portfolio that demonstrates the use of creative and novel solutions to solve complex problems
A solid understanding of graphic design and web technologies
Expert skill with wireframing tools such as Figma or Balsamiq, and design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and InVision
Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and a willingness to keep skills and industry knowledge current
Ability to attack all design challenges with energy and enthusiasm
Proficiency in generating interactive prototypes using whatever tool works to get the point across
Ability to work under limited supervision with considerable latitude for use of initiative, and accomplish several tasks simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write field notes, draw sketches, and annotate reports that summarize analyses and communicate findings with charts, tables, and narrative
Proven ability to build, manage, and foster a team-oriented environment
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Combination of business analysis, design, and technology implementation experience
2+ years of experience working with a geospatial-focused agency
Desire to work in an information systems environment
Able to adapt to dynamic work environments and be creative within a team
