Part-Time Senior Strategic Account Manager
Motivf is seeking a Part-Time Senior Strategic Account Manager with direct experience working with or within the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) to lead strategic business development efforts focused on DOC bureaus and stakeholders. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who brings existing DOC relationships, understands the federal landscape, and can independently identify, cultivate, and convert opportunities into long-term client engagements.
The ideal candidate is a trusted relationship-builder with a strong background in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, and a deep understanding of how decisions are made within DOC and its associated agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Leverage existing Department of Commerce relationships to identify and pursue new business opportunities
Proactively identify, qualify, and cultivate leads within DOC and related organizations
Serve as a strategic point of contact for DOC accounts, maintaining and expanding client relationships
Develop and execute account strategies to convert leads into funded opportunities
Partner with internal teams to align client needs with service offerings and proposal strategies
Provide insight into DOC priorities, procurement processes, and stakeholder dynamics
Track and manage pipeline activity, ensuring consistent progress toward revenue goals
Represent the organization in meetings, briefings, and relevant DOC or industry events as needed
Required Qualifications:
Direct experience working with the U.S. Department of Commerce (as a federal employee, contractor, consultant, or partner)
Demonstrated ability to leverage existing DOC relationships to generate business opportunities
Proven experience in business development, sales, account management, or strategic partnerships
Strong understanding of federal procurement, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making processes
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive results in a part-time capacity
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior senior-level role supporting or selling into DOC bureaus (e.g., ITA, NTIA, Census Bureau, NOAA, NIST, USPTO, MBDA, etc.)
Experience supporting professional services, consulting, technology, or government solutions
Familiarity with capture planning, pipeline development, or proposal support
Existing presence in or near the DMV area, with the ability to attend in-person meetings when beneficial
