Public Policy Intern

Position Summary

Are you tenacious, not content to stop once things get hard? Are you interested in helping a City obtain a complete Census count in 2020, despite the obstacles facing them? Motivf is looking for candidates who embrace hard work and thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments. The chosen candidate(s) should be available for an internship starting in September, 2019 and culminating in December, 2019.

Location: Baltimore City, MD.

Work You’ll Do:

In this role, you will be responsible to::

  • Support a City’s preparation for the 2020 Census

  • Identify and analyze hard-to-count populations

  • Participate in brainstorms and project meetings

  • Perform on-the-ground and background research to identify the best ways to reach hard-to-count populations

  • Recommend and support messaging campaigns to target hard-to-count populations

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to coordinate projects from inception to completion and meet demanding deadlines

  • Excellent communication, team-building and presentation skills

  • Impeccable time management and prioritization skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Public Policy, Marketing, or a similar field

  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods

  • Familiarity with the purpose and challenges of the 2020 Census
