Kristen Hayden Safdie
Kristen is motivated by the idea that learning should be intuitive, personal, and interesting. She wears a lot of hats, but her main focus is turning information into performance goals, learning plans, and resources. Kristen can be described as an instructional designer with the graphic and interaction design skills to create learning experiences or an e-learning developer with a deep understanding of how people learn and perform tasks.
Kristen has designed learning experiences from the ground-up, including developing and managing 10-week online courses, creating hours of instructional video with subject matter experts, and creating a tabletop card game to teach kids emergency skills. She is also experienced with the technical side of learning and has implemented and administered learning management systems, and has developed complex e-learning interactions using Storyline, Captivate, H5P, and more. Kristen applies her love of performance improvement to attending music festivals, and has streamlined the process well enough that the addition of a toddler hasn’t slowed her and her husband down.
Kristen holds an MS.Ed in Learning Design & Technology from Purdue University and lives in Northern Virginia, outside of DC. You can find her on Twitter at @kristenlearning where she tweets about educational technology, project management for instructional designers, and learning trends.
