Business Development Intern

Position Summary

Did you sell lemonade on the corner when you were a kid? Do you watch Shark Tank for the blood? We are looking for people who embrace hard work and enjoy moving the needle. We need someone with an eye for detail that wants to jump head first into finding and winning work.

Work you’ll do:

In your role, you will be responsible to:

  • Support the Motivf Marketing Team and business development efforts with weekly, biweekly, monthly and trimesterly reporting and updates

  • Keep proposal team organized using remote software suites (i.e., Slack, Trello, Jira, Kyber, etc.)

  • Plan proposal kickoff agendas and host daily stand up meetings for writing and review teams

  • Maintain digital and physical warehouse of proposal materials and resources

  • Study the marketplace, asses competitor’s work, and stay current with client industry, trends, and competition

  • Work with section leads to ensure that writing, pricing, past performance, and resume volumes are on time, professional, engaging, persuasive and supported by a sounds rationale

  • Contribute to creative development including stewarding proposals and supporting the production process

  • Provide support for communications efforts, social media campaigns, trimester planning, and events

Required Qualifications:

  • 20/20 attention to detail and clockwork time management skills

  • Analytical skills and ability to solve highly strategic and difficult business, accounting, and/or logistical problems

  • Excellent communication, team-building and presentation skills

  • Strong customer service skills, to build and maintain relationships

  • Naturally curious about industry, client, and academic happenings, and fascinated by the continual evolution of marketing and communications disciplines and technologies.

  • Ability to distill technical information for non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work successfully under pressure

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Knowledge of business development systems and procedures

  • Familiar with salary research and measurement best practices

  • Familiar with marketing and communications data management tools and technologies

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Google Drive, and/or Mac iWork Suite

  • Excellent organizational and writing skills.

  • Current college or graduate student in the Washington D.C. area.

Desired Timeframe:

May 1st- August 20th, minimum 20hrs/wk
