Behavioral Economist/ Senior Consultant

The Behavioral Economist provides technical and scientific support to cross-functional teams as an SME on economic and behavioral issues. The ideal candidate has research experience in topics such as behavioral economics, program evaluation, causal experiments and applied econometrics, including spatial econometrics. Work you’ll do:
In your role, you will be responsible for:
Act as an internal consultant to help business leaders apply behavioral economics to better generate target population insights
Apply research models to current business problems
Assist client leaders to better identify opportunities where behavioral economics can be leveraged
Assist Motivf in developing behavioral science as a core competency
Contribute to survey and research planes, including: publication bias; p-hacking; pre-analysis plans; selective reporting; reporting guidelines; reproducibility — and stay up-to-date on relevant research and policy developments
Develop training materials and presentations to evangelize behavioral economics in the organization
Utilize established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data and findings.
Suggest changes in outreach design based on metrics and findings, and contribute to program performance narratives.
Develop expertise in client’s outreach and behavior change models (EPPM: Extended Parallel Process Model, SCT: Social Cognitive Theory, SEM: Social Ecological Model, and SoC: Stages of Change Model).
Masters in behavioral science field, such as psychology, social science, consumer behavior, or behavioral economics.
3+ years related work experience
Experience in one or more core industry sectors, preferable government
World-class written and oral communication skills with ability to synthesize complex information and communicate it in an engaging way
Ability to engage effectively with a wide range of people, including senior executives, practitioners, researchers, and consumers
Capable of balancing priorities of simultaneous projects and demands
Experience working in multi-cultural/multi-group settings
Spanish language, native or bilingual proficiency
Experience with geospatial risk analysis and tools
Self-direction, intrinsically motivated; proven capacity to manage work independently, multitask and be responsive to time-sensitive deadlines
Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-anticipation and -solving, and customer service; ability to independently investigate solutions to challenges and anticipate leadership needs.
Well-organized, with strong administrative skills and outstanding attention to detail.
Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work diplomatically with diverse constituencies.
Ability to remain flexible and able to adapt to change.
